ALPINA now from GRAUPNER
07.01.2009
The GRAUPNER and TANGENT companies have formed an alliance, and will operate jointly as of 1 January 2009.

The aim of both firms is to supply the successful TANGENT range of high-performance gliders via the existing GRAUPNER distribution channels, in order to obtain even wider market penetration.
In addition to its distribution of international trade goods, GRAUPNER is particularly anxious to build up a high-quality range of
“Made in Germany”
models from its own manufacturing capacities, so that in future the company can again supply a wider palette of products sourced from the “GRAUPNER stable”.
We are convinced that the only way a company can strengthen its corporate identity, i.e. the character of its organisation and its range of products, is to develop unique products using its own facilities.

It is particularly significant that the Bär family and all their staff will continue to be responsible for the product range, and for monitoring production, in their time-honoured fashion. This is an important guarantee that TANGENT models will continue successfully under the new arrangement.
For some years now our two companies have been collaborating at the model component level, and during this period we have developed an excellent foundation of mutual trust.
The model production facility will remain at Amstetten. Frau Bär will continue to carry out the functions of product control, advertising and marketing for Tangent products, and Herr Bär will continue in his role as manager in the areas of development and production. TANGENT products will now be distributed exclusively via GRAUPNER, based at Kirchheim/Teck. The main effect of this synergy will be to improve market penetration provided by the GRAUPNER distribution network.
The core of the TANGENT product line are the ALPINA and Flamingo series, together with the KULT and VORTEX. These models have enjoyed an excellent reputation for decades, and within model flying circles they have always been a byword for consistent quality.
In particular, the various CARBON versions of TANGENT wings have become a company trademark.
More recently the “Design Editions” have also earned a good name: this system allow the customer to select an attractive design for his model, and obtain the product already covered in the pre-printed film.
Over the last few years numerous successes in the unforgiving world of competition have been achieved using the company’s technology. The most prominent collaborator with TANGENT is Guntmar Rüb (2008 F5B World Champion), who relies upon TANGENT moulding technology. Guntmar has also been a faithful user of GRAUPNER products for many years, and is very well known in the GRAUPNER fold.
In 2008 Guntmar Rüb became World Champion in the FAI F5B class at Kiev
We were able to contribute to his great success through the use of our CAD /CAM techniques and CNC machining of the new moulds for his “GoOne-6”
