Subsidiary company
Ecuador is the country of origin of high-quality balsa wood. GRAUPNER risked taking the big step over the Atlantic and secured the essential supply with raw material balsa wood by establishing the Ecuadorian subsidiary company of EBAGEC (Elaboradora Balsera Germano - Ecuatoriana).
Today, about 70 employees work in Guayaquil/Ecuador under German management. Next to processing balsa wood, also the production of pre-fabricated wing panels is the main task of the company.
The supply of raw material is ensured by our own balsa plantations. Only selected wood an sheets that meet the high quality requirements of our customers will find their way to the final customer. ANDINO balsa wood stands for high quality of our pre-fabricated and semi-pre- fabricated products.
Charity
In 1986, on the occasion of the 10th birthday of the company EBAGEC in Guayaquil Hans Graupner has laid the financial foundations for "Hilfe für Guasmo" ("Help for Guasmo").
Ursula Hauser has undertaken the realization and developped the project in 1987 in the largest slum area "Guasmo" of Guayaquil and later on in the primeval forest area Napo in Ecuador. In a center which is run by nuns (day-nursery, primary school, hospital, training courses, etc.) the poorest of the poor are being helped by the donations of godmothers and godfathers in Germany. Children, young persons and primarily women have, among others, the possibility to go to school or to get a professional qualification. Ursula Hauser has promoted this sponsorship and has founded the association "Hilfe für Guasmo e.V." ("Help for Guasmo, incorporated association") in 1994 as an independent responsible body of the entire work. The association is run honorarily.
Ursula Hauser – who is committed to the association and a competent specialist in this area - visits the projects every year. She is working and planning with the responsible persons on site. She is bearing her travel and administrative cost privately. Each donation is integrally invested
